What is VASERsmooth®?

VASERsmooth® is a safe, effective procedure that makes otherwise unachievable results possible for individuals struggling with cellulite. The lumpy appearance of cellulite is caused by fibrous bands beneath the skin’s surface running across a layer of fat, which causes the puckering effect. VASERsmooth® is a minimally invasive treatment option for cellulite that targets cellulite from the inside by the use of a thin hand-piece that allows the surgeon to move the probes around the exact area with cellulite, while delivering the precise amount of ultrasound energy to the tissue.

How Does it Work?

A few tiny incisions are made for a thin cannula to pass through in order to reach under the layer of skin and emulsify the fat of the targeted area. Before the ultrasound energy is applied, a solution of water, anesthetic and adrenaline is injected. During the surgery, VASERsmooth® technology enables the doctor performing the operation to apply only the required amount of energy to the targeted tissues therefore minimizing any harm to surrounding tissues, nerves, and blood vessels while receiving continuous feedback on the release of the fibrous septae. The procedure produces immediate results right after the surgery and promotes continuous improvement by triggering collagen growth, thus reducing or even eliminating dimpling and loose skin appearance in the long run.

VASERsmooth® can be performed under local anesthesia with little or no discomfort. Depending on the extent of the target area most patients can be treated within a couple of hours.
